The Blueberry Festival will be held on July 26, 2009 on the grounds of Old Austerlitz from 9am-4pm.
Our 21st Year!
Welcome to the Austerlitz Historical Society. We are an educational non-profit community organization founded in 1988.
We offer a full calendar of events and programs year-round, a quarterly newsletter, and a growing museum site, Old Austerlitz, where, artifacts, photos and memorabilia relating to the Town are being collected and preserved, along with a collection of 18th and 19th century buildings. These buildings will augment the original one-room schoolhouse (c.1818) and 1850s church.
Austerlitz, first settled in the mid 1750s, is a rural community of beautiful mountains, lovely valleys and small hamlets, located 40 miles southeast of Albany. It is a wonderful place to live and to visit.
